Elon Musk has announced that he would leave his position at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) beginning in May. The wealthy CEO will assume a more supportive role in the coming weeks.
In a Tesla earnings call, Musk stated that he will devote the majority of his time to his electric car company. Beginning in May, he planned to spend a day or two per week on DOGE affairs. It will very likely last for the remainder of the president's term.
Musk's role as CEO of DOGE has come under growing criticism. Meanwhile, his political engagement has caused protests and boycotts of Tesla cars all around the world. Tesla is experiencing a significant sales drop. Tesla investors are pleading with him to abandon the contentious project and devote more time to Tesla.
